International Trends in Social Science Data Archive Collaboration
| Abstract
As the role of social science data archives has grown, many national, regional, and international groups have formed. While collaboration among data archives is increasingly important, the approaches and contents of these cooperation vary and are not always uniform. For the keynote speech, Mr. Bobray Joseph Bordelon, Vice President of IASSIST (International Association for Social Science Information Service and Technology), will provide an overview of the current state of social science data alliances both regionally and globally. He will also discuss potential opportunities for NASSDA and its members to form alliances with other data organizations that could be mutually beneficial. In the second part of the workshop, the East Asia Data Archive Network (NASSDA) and its collaborative activities will be introduced, followed by reports on the initiatives and efforts of its member institutions.
