The 5th meeting of the Network of Asian Social Science Data Archive (NASSDA), was held online via Zoom on February 23, 2021.
First, Dr. Hiroshi Ishida from SSJDA gave us an opening remark and expressed welcome to each institution for joining this online meeting.
Dr. Gary King (Albert J. Weatherhead III University Professor and Director, Institute for Quantitative Social Science, Harvard University)gave a short presentation entitled “Introduction to Social Science One and Dataverse.”
Then, each archive reported the recent activities as below. During the COVID-19 pandemic, each institute made efforts to maintain the operation of the archive and promoted education and research activities.
・Overview of recent activities of CSRDA and Social Science Japan Data Archive (reported by Dr. Shuai Wang, SSJDA/The University of Tokyo)
・KOSSDA’s Activities in 2020 & Business Plan (reported by Dr. Jeayeol Yee, KOSSDA/Seoul National University)
・Brief Introduction to SRDA and Its Data Services (reported by Dr. Pei-shan Liao, SRDA/Academia Sinica)
・An Overview of Annual Progress 2020 of Chinese National Survey Data Archive (reported by Dr. Weidong Wang, CNSDA/Renmin University of China)
Finally, SRDA shared the experience of applying the Core Trust Seal, and we exchange ideas about archiving new types of data. In order to update the website to ensure accessibility for all NASSDA members, a website renewal plan was proposed by SSJDA and agreed upon by each archive.
