The 4th meeting of the Network of Asian Social Science Data Archive (NASSDA) was held at the University of Tokyo in Japan on 25 January (Fri) and 26 January (Sat), 2019.
The first day, each archive made a brief reports and we had discussions on the possibilities of collaborative activities centered on the following.
・Banner exchange and public relations
・Collaboration in the management and development of standards for data services
・Nesstar (remote computation system)
・SSJDA seminar series
This was followed by an invited presentation under the theme of “Data Repository Assessment and Certification: Experiences and Lessons Learned” by Jared Lyle(Director, Metadata and Preservation Unit, ICPSR, University of Michigan) .
The second day consisted of invited presentation by Elizabeth C. Hess, tea ceremony & lunch, and business meeting.
Elizabeth C. Hess (Executive Director, Institute for Quantitative Social Science, Harvard University) gave a presentation titled “The Dataverse Project: Open-Source Software to Share, Cite, and Find Data.”
Finally, in the afternoon’s business meeting, we talked about recent developments related to data archiving and future meetings.
